But it does seem like there's been a lot of political turbulence in Turkey and some of it has reflected into the wine zone as well and you've traveled there quite a bit and written numerous articles for numerous publications about Istanbul and Turkish wines and then also you have a lot of

so welcome back and what's going on with Turkey? Well there's so much happening in

I mean, when I open Twitter or read any publication,

you see a new major shift or battle today.

A member of parliament was attacked in the parliament and had his nose broken over a

parliamentary discussion which might not seem like it's related to wine but the current political

party that's in power the aquk Party, which is led by Erdogan,

who's the president, former prime minister.

They want to shift power away from a sort of parliamentary system towards a presidential

system, which would give this very powerful anti-wine person a lot more power than he already has.

And considering that Erdogan and his party by many accounts are considered a big threat to free choice when it comes to drinking

among other things. This has been really devastating and will continue to be

really devastating for domestic wine production and consumption in Turkey.
