retrospective and as a thank you to you, our listeners. We're dedicating this

episode to your favorite moments over the past for a hundred releases.

Whenever we get feedback about the episodes, it's always an opportunity to connect with someone

who listens. And one of my favorite

listeners that I've gotten to know over the years is Drew de Mateo. He's a wine

collector who lives in New Jersey but he has plans to move to Sonoma.

Drew and I have become friends through the podcast

and we even catch up for a meal once in a while.

Here's Drew talking about some of his favorite episodes.

You know, I was thinking about what my favorite episodes are.

and you know some of them are people that I've met friends of mine I love their wines.

So I'm thinking are those my favorite episodes or is it just influenced because I know the people like

Pax Malie and Hardy Wallace, Megan Glab? I really enjoyed all of those episodes.

For the most part when I listen it's about learning education.

Ian Dacata, his Barolo episode was unbelievable.

When you first start learning about wine,

one of the things you realize first is you don't know nearly as much as you thought

and there's so much to learn. When I listened to that episode I was like, wow, there is a lot more to learn about Barolo than I thought.

I think I actually want to study Barolo more and go back and listen to that episode
