Summary

I'm often surprised that I am so easily distracted when I work. Isn't that a symptom of being weak-minded? sad face. If you find yourself easily distracted (especially when working at home), please know that you aren't the only one. Lots of us share the same struggle. The key is to acknowledge, accept, and adjust. There are loads of productivity tools out there that can help you get in the zone. In this episode, I talk about what distracts me and how I try to fight it and stay on track. I hear it several times a week, that I'm a bloodhound, that I have the nose of a wolf,

that I should get a job with the police department as a bomb and drug-sniffing dog. This has saved us, though, sometimes,

as in the case of the gas stove being left on. I've also been looked at as a freak because I can

1:05.5

tell when someone in the car in front of mine is smoking. But at other times, I'm the only one who can smell the pine trees,

1:12.7

the smell of great perfume, or the lavender flowers wafting in the breeze. I like sharing

comments like Amy's because I think it helps all of us realize that we aren't alone. You aren't the

only one who feels the way you do, and I'm not the only one who feels the way I do.

1:32.9

There are a lot of us who are sensitive to smells and sounds and emotions and all sorts of things.

1:35.3

Today's show is about being distracted, in particular being easily distracted at work, especially

if you work from home.

1:43.0

Sometimes I'm amazed that for a somewhat intelligent person,

I have such a hard time staying focused on my work. I get really frustrated by how much time I waste.
