Summary

Most of us avoid sorrow and only engage in mourning when it is forced upon us. But mourning as Jesus described it in the Beatitudes is not a temporary grief but the sorrow that emerges in our lives when we realize our alienation from God—and there is a blessing attached to it. When we realize our brokenness and our helplessness apart from Christ, we are eager to fall on our knees before Him and seek His forgiveness, His healing, and His blessings.

0:00.0	I believe it's about a blessing. So I just want to ask you a question. I want to plant a seed in your thought life.
0:11.0	Is it possible that we have misunderstood the significance of blessing?
0:17.0	If we reject the blessings of God, if we treat them with disdain, or we reject them.
0:25.0	There's a consequence in our lives.
0:26.5	There's a principle we learned in physics many years ago
0:30.0	that for every action there's an equal and opposite reaction.
0:34.0	It's true in physics, it's true spiritually as well.
0:37.0	And if you reject or forfeit the blessings of God,
0:40.0	you'll receive something in its place that's destructive to a degree that the blessing was valuable.
