Well, hello there. It's Morgan here and welcome to today's episode. Today's episode is called

0:05.9

watering the hidden depths of the heart. Lessons from a watering can. So if you've ever seen a watering

0:12.5

can before, then you know that it's this vessel that holds water so you can water plants

0:19.2

with a long spout. and one of the things that long

0:23.9

spout is useful for is that it can reach parts of a plant that might be hard to access with something

0:31.0

like a water hold system so I don't personally know a ton about gardening but I do know when

0:37.4

it comes to house plants.

0:39.3

The length of that spout is very useful because it allows me to be able to reach those hidden parts of the plant that might just be harder to reach in some way.

0:53.1

And that part needs to be watered just as much as the part

0:56.7

that is easier to reach. So in the context of the heart, watering the hidden parts of the heart,

1:22.1

to water the hard to reach parts of your heart. And the first one is relationships. So it can be so easy in our

1:35.4

modern lives to just have very surface level interactions with people and surface level

1:42.1

conversations, even people that we live with and see

1:46.0

every day. We are in our routines and we may have the set of things that we talk about,

1:53.4

such as did you take out the trash or did you do this or do that? And it can take considerable effort

2:00.6

to go deeper, especially when you

2:02.5

have a lot to do and a lot of things going on. And this is why I love the analogy of the watering can

2:09.8

is that it's something small that happens on a regular basis. So watering a plant, even though for many of us, even that is hard to

2:20.8

remember to do, when we do remember to do it, it makes a difference. So it doesn't have to be,

2:28.0

okay, I've got to go buy a new plant every day. And what that can look like metaphorically,
