Well, hello there. It's Morgan here and welcome to today's episode. Today's episode is called

Moving Beyond the Vertical Frame, Embracing Life's Vastness. This episode is going to be a little bit

more niche than normal. It definitely ventures into some things that I have been researching

in regards to media and creativity. However, there is a word

that I arrived upon in my studies that has just really been helping me. So I just had to share

it in this form where I'm going to be talking a little bit about technology. So hopefully you can

stay with me in this episode. I really think that

this word that we're going to land on in this episode is very useful and helpful. And I hope that

you can carry it with you. So as a visual artist, I have to think in format all the time.

And here's just something that I've observed about the

limitations of vertical format. And what I mean by vertical format is specifically our phones. So a lot of

phones, almost all most modern smartphones, tend to have a vertical format.

And even if you can move them to horizontal,

most of the apps that we use are typically optimized for vertical.

And this is not about saying that vertical format is wrong.

I think it has plenty of good uses. I have an app that is created in

vertical format. So I don't think that it's just the worst idea. However, I just think that it is

one view. So I just want to share with you some things that I've been researching and studying

and where it's kind of led me into thinking about

some things. So when video of cameras first became available outside of television programming,

there was a big shift that occurred because for the first time, now there were consumer
