Well, I love those introductions and learning who's in our community here at job with Julie and I am Julie slattery and glad that you are a listener this podcast is an

outreach of authentic intimacy a ministry dedicated to reclaiming God's design for sexuality

well a few times a month,

I get a call from a mom or dad who says, my teenage daughter announced last night that she's

transgender. She's never struggled with this before, and I feel like I've been hit with a Mack

truck. What do we do? What is happening here? You probably know someone who could

have made that call. There's been a tidal wave of teens, particularly girls, questioning their

gender identity over the last few years. Well, today we're going to talk about that with my guest,

Dr. Mark Yourhouse. Dr. Yarrhouse teaches clinical psychology at Wheaton College and he oversees

the Sexual and Gender Identity Institute there. He's been researching sexual identity development

and the experiences of people of faith who are navigating sexual identity for over 20 years.

These stories include the experiences of LGBT plus students at Christian colleges and universities,

people in mixed orientation marriages, and Christian parents whose kids have come out as gay

or transgendered.
