Hi, I'm Olympian Carrie Tullifson and welcome to the C-Tolly Run podcast.

This week on the show, I interview Caitlin Tooey.

Caitlin is in her first year as a professional runner for Adidas, and we've known Caitlin for a long time in the running community.

She is what some might say is the best high school runner we've ever seen.

She won multiple national championships in high school while setting record after record.

Then she went on to run at NC State and won four individual NCAA championships,

along with being a member of three NCAA cross-country championship teams.

She set collegiate records in the indoor mile, indoor 3,000 meters, and outdoor 5,000 meters while she was competing there, and still

holds the indoor NCAA mile record of 424. In this episode, we hear all about that, the ups and downs

of being so good. She tells us about the comeback trail and how

she's been dealing with a big injury this past year, dealing with the pressures of being so

well known, having fun now as a pro, being in Europe for the first time in racing on the pro

circuit, growing up and having such a tight-knit family, her granola, and, of course, we ended up with some rapid fire.

Caitlin, I'm so excited to have you on. I'm really excited to have you on, but I think equally

my daughter is like super pumped that I get to have you on the show. So thanks for coming on

C Tali Rod. Yeah, thanks for having me. This is so fun. So you're calling me from Europe. You're

on this little European circuit. What's it like to be over there for the first time as a pro?

It's been really cool. We have a group with us. So a bunch of NC State alumni, Hannah, Steelman, Elie Hennas, Sam Bush,

and Emily Pritt is kind of being our tour guide throughout all this.

So it's my first time.

I didn't even sign my passport when I had, like, leaving the country.
