Today I'm with Al Grover Fricks to take a closer look at the Magi and the star of the

Nativity. That's right. If you recall, if you're jumping in here, or it's been a little while

since you are able to listen to the first episode in the

series we are using the window of the Talmud this ancient conversation

written down in volumes and volumes of books, much of that conversation predating Jesus,

in order that we might add depth and breadth to our understanding of why Matthew and the Spirit of God told this gospel story in the

precise way that they did.

So we're utilizing these really old conversations to ask some questions of the text with eyes open for

nuance and added texture.

So this particular episode is going to come to us in four parts.

If you felt a little lost last week, I

apologize. I didn't tell everyone, hey, this is what we'll be talking about

together. But this time you can know. We've got four parts. We're talking

magi, we're talking

stars, we're talking gifts, and then we're talking about Jesus' time in Egypt. So now you

should know where we are and where we're going. We're all on the same page.

And we have covered the story before back in

episode 89 titled Written in the Stars people might remember the the bull in the

house was the kind of key phrase that we talked about there. So I'm curious to see what

different things may come up here. Yeah absolutely. I love that episode. It was

revelatory for me the first time I heard it.
