But we also realize that there are many marriages that don't make it through hard things.

There are many couples who don't survive divorce, sexual addiction, just dysfunctional dynamics,

and God allows divorce for a reason.

He sees and he understands the pain that unhealthy marriages can create.

Last week we actually talked about what God's

word says about divorce with Pastor Mike Faberis. So if you haven't heard that, you might want to go

back and take a listen. But this week, we want to talk about what care looks like in a situation

where you're in a difficult marriage, or maybe you have a friend who's walking through

a divorce. You know, traditionally the church has not done a good job of ministering to people

who are either going through a divorce or have divorce in their past. So to help us navigate

these waters, I've invited Stacey Sadler. Stacey and I met this year at the Sexual Integrity Leadership Summit in Texas.

She's a licensed counselor and a therapist with a lot of training and treating clients with

complex trauma and dissociative disorders. And Stacey is going to share with us what it looks

like to be in a marriage that feels like it's on life support. And what are

some of the first steps that a person needs to take if they feel like they might be dying in a

marriage? What kind of help should they reach out for? And we'll also talk about how do we as the church

honor marriage while still recognizing when we need to help a friend create boundaries and get out of a toxic or abusive marriage.
