Does gratitude matter to God? Well, the Bible says it does.

You've probably read that story in Luke chapter 17.

The story of Jesus healing, 10 lepers, but only one returns to say thank you.

But the one who comes back does so praising God.

His gratitude made him joyful. You know, the quickest way,

out of a tough day, is through the door marked. Thank you.

Shipwreck, right off the coast. This was the message that awakened the citizens of Winnitka,

Illinois, caused them to spill out of their beds onto their village streets, an excursion ship with

400 passengers was going down in nearby Lake Michigan.

It was the 1860s.

They knew nothing of power boats and rescue helicopters.

And the future of the floundering passengers lay in the strength of young people like Ed.

Ed was a seminary student.
