You know, family pain has been around since, well, quite since, families have been around.

The earliest chapters of Genesis introduce us to a crooked family tree.

If you know family wounds, I think you'll find some hope in the story of Joseph.

What woman having 10 silver coins if she loses one coin does not light a lamp, sweep the house,

and search carefully until she finds it. This is one of three stories that Jesus tells in one of the

most delightful chapters of the whole Bible, Luke chapter 15. Luke chapter 15 relates three

stories of lostness. There's the lost sheep, there's the lost coin, and there's the lost son.

They are strung together by this, the most common denominators of humans.

And that is, we tend to get lost.

Lost from our shepherd, lost from our owner, lost from our father.

We get lost in life.

But the story of the coin stands out, it differs from the other two.

Sheep get lost by wandering away.

Prodicals get lost by running away, Prodigals get lost by running away.
