Hello everyone. Welcome to the fittest, healthiest and happiest podcasts around. I'm your coach and host, Josh, and I am here with his co-host KG. And we're coming at you with another episode of Motivation Monday, you know, where we go ahead and share some of our favorite quotes, works through some of our thoughts, some things that are happening in the industry in our lives, things that are motivating us, as well as answer your question. So get excited. We got a great episode today. So you tuned into the right podcast,

0:25.7

and we're going to kickstart it as always with the quotes. And I have an exciting one. So I'm

0:30.4

going to go ahead and kind of spearhead this to start. And my quote is, yesterday I was clever,

0:35.9

so I wanted to change the world today i am wise so i am changing

0:40.6

myself and this quote just really hit me because too often i think we want to change everything

0:47.4

else except for ourselves and you know if anyone's a formula one fan i was watching drive to survive

0:52.2

and they were highlighting this team

0:54.1

Haas, one of the teams who isn't doing so well. And there's two individuals, Mazpin and Schumacher.

0:59.8

And they're both racing for that team. And the one individual was doing worse than the other.

1:04.8

So what's unique with Formula One is you're racing against everyone else. You're racing

1:09.2

against 19 other people on the grid. But if you think about it, you're racing against 19 other people on the grid,

1:11.1

but if you think about it, you're directly racing against a person on your team because they have

1:15.7

the same car, all the same equipment, so it's a test of who's better. And I thought it was so

1:20.1

interesting because the one individual was freaking out saying that his car was so different,

1:24.2

he was so much slower, he can't understand it, must be the gearbox, must be the chassis, must be all these different things. And everyone's saying it's the exact same car, like by contract, it's identically the same, all these things. And then one of the like the reporters, one of the experts for it, came in and said, you know, what's hilarious is these people have been working so hard their whole life. And when this happens, because someone has the same car, they're going to go through every component of that car and look for everything before they even go ahead and say, maybe I'm the issue, maybe I'm the problem, maybe I need to have a different approach or I need to address how I'm driving it. And I just thought it was so interesting because, you know, this is something we all do in everyday life. It's just so easy to blame other people, our situation,

2:06.5

coworkers, your experience. Like, you know, it's just really easy to use that blame card. But the more

2:12.1

we look at saying, hey, how can I change myself and how can I reshape my structure by working

2:16.9

with myself as opposed to others?

2:18.9

That can be a really beneficial thing. And the more you can do that and the more you can say,

2:22.2

you know, I am the person who's responsible for change in my life. I can create positive change.

2:27.3

I can create negative change. That's how you can truly make great change. And that is a wise decision.

2:32.2

So once again, that quote is, yesterday I was clever. so I wanted to change the world. Today I am wise, so I am changing myself. I love that, dude. I feel like, you know, just I can relate to that a lot, especially with the book I recently started reading, winning with people by John C. Maxwell. He's a guy who wrote like 80 leadership books. And it's pretty cool because it reminds me the other day when I was just reading a chapter and they had said that a lot of times like winning like just like in terms of relationships and everything around us often comes from just working on ourselves. Like if you're someone who always sees everybody around you as like a negative or like a bad person or whatever, a lot of times we have to start looking from within. And it was cool because he had a lot of different things that he was like you know just talking about and just like kind of relating back to and i'm like man just it's a constant reminder work on yourself work on yourself you know look look at yourself first right and that's pretty cool even just uh i know f1 driving it's funny because josh introduced it to me a little and i watched a few
