If you're listening this in line with the week, it is the start of the week. It is a fresh opportunity to kind of get out there, dominate and make this week count. And what better way to do that than with a really great quote? So what do you got for us today, Kyle? |
| 0:54.7 | So my quote, as I was scrolling through Instagram, it came from Tom Bill, you. I think he may have taken it from someone else and put it on just like a photo. He was the founder of Quest Nutrition and Now Impact Theory, which is a great podcast. But it basically said, never apologize for being obsessed. Stay in the gym for two hours, |
| 1:10.6 | pull an all-nighter working on your side hustle, |
| 1:12.9 | read your new book the entire day, |
| 1:14.7 | pause, never apologize for being obsessed. Stay in the gym for two hours, pull an all-nighter working on your |
| 1:11.9 | side hustle, read your new book the entire day. Positive obsession is a gift, not a behavior to be suppressed. |
| 1:18.6 | And I thought this was very interesting because I've had a lot of conversations in the past with |
| 1:22.2 | clients who just, you know, love fitness, who love keeping track of their Apple Watch and just, |
| 1:27.0 | you know, I think a lot of times it can get a negative rep of just being fit, healthy, happy, and just from others around us. And sometimes you kind of have that, you know, just thought of like, is it too much? But I really thought that this hit home, especially if you are someone who ever feels like, it's like, oh, man, you know, just I'm, I'm living living such a healthy lifestyle and then those around you kind of |
| 1:44.1 | always have these little things to say about it um you know once again there's a difference between an obsession where it's like you know you just can't you know put the alcohol down or you just you're you can't like you know um you just like you won't do anything that's an obsession with just being kind of lazy right so there's a big difference between a positive and a negative obsession and I thought that was really great and very well said. Yeah. So. Yeah, I love this because, you know, on one end, a lot of people will say, you know, too much of any great thing is a negative thing. Obviously, there's doing it intelligently, but pushing it. But, you know, once again, it's really about like a lot of people, |
| 2:17.9 | even I've always had, oh, you're too obsessed with the gym. And in my mind, I'm like, I'm going to the gym for like 90 minutes. It's like my time, like my therapy, my time to physically have exertion, to socialize to do all these things, like five times a week for 90 minutes. I don't think that's an obsession. I would more so say an obsession is watching four hours of Netflix seven days a week, right? |
| 2:36.5 | So, you know, I do love, I, a week for 90 minutes. I don't think that's an obsession. I would more so say an obsession is watching |
| 2:34.4 | four hours of Netflix seven days a week, right? So, you know, I do love, I've seen a lot of great quotes too saying, you know, don't overdo the wrong things, but overdo the right things, you know, overdue, enjoying working out, overdue going on walks, overdue, spending time with family, overdue being charitable, generous, and, you know, supportive of others. Like, I really love that side of it, too. And, you know, once again, like, lean into the things that make you feel good and that you know are good for you, right? Like, don't lean into the things like, you know, of course, I've always said ordering a pizza night, you'll feel good for minutes, and they're going to feel horrible for 15 hours, right? Like, so lean into things that not only make you feel good, but feel good after. Obviously, we mentioned walking a lot, working out, cooking, eating great food, like I said, socializing, being active, trying new hobbies, you know, challenging yourself with the right amount of pressure, like all these different things. So, you know, I really love this quote and I thought that was really good too because, you know, when you overdo those great things, it helps you grow. And sometimes, too, I think it's also great to reflect and, you know, really kind of consider that maybe something's a little bit of a challenge at that time. Maybe you've started a new workout routine or you've invested with coaching. |
| 3:43.6 | And myself or Kyle or coach Armando or Coach Chris has really challenged you with, |
| 3:47.9 | you know, a particular routine or something like that. |
| 3:50.1 | And you're like, oh, this is a little bit hard. |
| 3:51.5 | But, you know, pressure makes a diamond. |
