Summary

Here it is! The episode everyone has been asking for. Specific ways to deal with unsolicited comments about ANYTHING.

we all get them, and often we don’t know how to respond, or don’t respond. But no matter if someone has a comment to say about your body, skin, lifestyle, sexuality, job, being single, style, this podcast has it covered. Bit of swearing as per usual so be prepared for that too.

Hello, good morning, Ola, slash, you could be listening to this in the evening. So good evening,

0:05.9

my beans. Today, I'm very excited. This is episode 36 and today I'm going to be talking about

0:12.0

dealing with unsolicited comments. This can be just a comment. This can be advice. It's everything.

0:18.1

Now, I'm pretty excited and I start every podcast talking about how excited I

0:22.5

am, but I am pretty excited because I did a call out on my Instagram and I got people to answer,

0:28.1

you know, what kind of unsolicited comments you have had, especially for the people that kind of

0:34.3

didn't know what to say in response because often people catch us

0:37.5

off guard, they make a comment and we either offended or hurt or we feel like really uncomfortable

0:43.2

with the comment that they've made. But at the time, you kind of, you caught off guard so you don't

0:47.2

really say anything in response or you might snap back and then you then you either walk away saying,

0:52.8

I wish I had said something or I wish I

0:55.3

didn't react like that and I had something better to have said. So I put the call out on my

1:00.6

Instagram and I had probably the biggest response that I have ever had ever in any question

1:07.2

call out that I've done on my Instagram. I'm talking about hundreds and hundreds and

1:10.8

hundreds of comments that came through. So thank you everyone for participating and helping me out

1:16.8

with that. There were many underlying themes there that were quite common across the board. And it

1:22.7

just goes to show that no matter who's making the comment, whether they're well-meaning, whether

1:27.2

they're toxic, whether that your well-meaning, whether they're

1:27.5

toxic, whether that your best friend, your family or just a stranger, these things, you know,

1:33.9

are coming in thick and fast, left, right and center because people just feel entitled to make

1:39.2

unsolicited comments and give you their opinion about how they feel. And I find it really funny because I'm sure I've done it as well.

1:46.0

I'm sure we've all done it.
