The goal of our spiritual life is not to be dramatic. The goal is to honor God in the

midst of our routine in our homes and our jobs and our neighborhoods.

In fact, it's problematic, it's troublesome.

It will often lead you in the wrong direction

if your goal is to be dramatic.

God doesn't need me to be dramatic,

he needs me to be faithful.

I found that if I will serve him faithfully in the simple things that he puts before me,

in the quiet invitations that he places before me,

that God will add all the drama I can stand.

And if you start out wanting to be dramatic, you'll most likely miss God because God isn't

found in the drama, he's found in the simple faithfulness.
