I am a retired pastor, a brother in Christ, and I do this morning mindset

to encourage you to get your mind

aligned with the truth of God at the beginning of the day.

You know, when we're halfway through the day and we've

already blown it in a lot of ways it can be almost a little too late at that

moment can't it I mean it's always time to reorient our thinking. We can, it's never too late. But isn't it better just to start the day right, to get ourselves moving in the right direction in terms of our thinking from the very start of the day and that's

what the morning mindset is aimed at doing.

We've been looking at the book of Proverbs trying to understand some of the wise sayings that Solomon has written for our benefit.

And we've been looking at Proverbs chapter 20.

And today I want to look at verse 22. This verse has a lot to do with how we react the response that we have when someone does wrong to us.

And that's just not a pleasant place to be, is it?

When someone has done something that is harmful to me.

My instinct is to react to that with defensiveness, with anger, with a sense of retribution to get them back,

you know that's our natural inclination. But Proverbs Chapter 20 gives us a different perspective. And it's a perspective not only

based on wisdom, but based on the way God instructs his people, his creatures, to react when wrong is done to them.

Verse 22 of Proverbs 20 says,

Do not say, I will repay evil.

Wait for the Lord and he will deliver you.

My goodness, isn't that like a splash of cold water in the face?

Do not say, I will repay evil.

So in other words, when you have that gut reaction
