Now you can think about different individuals in scripture that heard God, encountered God,

but then walked away from God, or had a season in their life where they didn't hear God.

I think about David not listening to God while he was hiding from Saul and here he had done these tremendous things.

I mean the Prophet had come looking for him. He had anointed him in front of his brothers. He had killed Goliath and now David even in the middle of this incredible story with God is hiding from God not hearing his voice he's

dreading he's in fear and he is living with the Philistines so I I guess I want to

like poke the religious part of us that says, oh, this is for the new believer.

Oh, this is for that Christian. This is for the young people. No, I wouldn't call David a young

believer. I wouldn't have called David an immature or somebody

who doesn't have the right heart. No, I would say that David, even in his

pursuit and his highs and his victories, was still vulnerable to checking out and disconnecting and leaving the voice of
