Summary

In this episode I talk to Jennifer Hollander, MSN, NP-C about all things acne, aging and aesthetics. We discuss specifics including the emotional trauma of acne, causes, treatments, and products everyone should be using. We also delve into aging, injectables, and when surgery is appropriate -- and we unpack the judgement and stigma that surrounds aesthetic enhancements. This is a fun, energetic conversation that is jam packed with valuable information for the beauty junkies out there and anybody struggling or curious about their options.

Welcome to the show. I am so happy you're here. Guys I'm trying out a new audio setup here so normally I record in a studio

0:12.0

but a lot of people who I want to interview just can't take time out of their day to come record in a studio for an hour at on driving time with that, which in LA is like five freaking hours like it's just too much so

0:25.4

shout out to my girl Christina Rice who showed me how to get this whole setup

0:30.2

going and now I'm mobile and I'm going to people but I just always want to

0:35.1

check in and make sure everything is good on your end. Everything sounds good on

0:39.2

my end but you know there's nothing worse than shitty audio.

0:44.0

Do you hear me, Oprah?

0:47.6

Oprah if you're listening,

0:48.6

like I really think you could get to the next level

0:51.2

if your super soul conversations were a little more clear, just saying.

0:56.7

Anyway, I want to preface this episode by saying that talking about beauty procedures and surgery and the things I've

1:06.0

personally done is a little bit tricky for me not because I want to hide it

1:11.0

because it's actually the opposite I'm very open about it but because I don't want to be

1:15.8

encouraging anyone who feels badly about themselves or is much younger to just go out and get

1:22.0

surgery or like want to get surgery and

1:24.1

think that that's like the solution. So it can be kind of a delicate subject.

1:28.4

That said, I think we emphasize in this episode that there are so many options out there and that if your

1:35.5

desire to enhance yourself isn't coming from a place of trying to fix the way you

1:40.5

feel inside then by all means go for it so that's the key and then

1:46.3

Jen and I realized that after we wrapped recording we left out the most important

1:50.2

thing of all which is happy people are the most attractive people. I'm going to
