| 0:00.0 | What is going on, everyone? Welcome to another episode of the fit, healthy, and most of all, |
| 0:04.7 | happy podcasts. As always, I'm your coach and host Josh here with his co-host and co-coach, KG, and I'm in |
| 0:11.1 | the house. And we're coming at you with the secret to making fitness and nutrition sustainable |
| 0:16.4 | for life. Sustainability is such a core principle of just how we operate as coaches and how we |
| 0:22.8 | operate personally in our fitness and nutrition. Without sustainability, it's going to be a short-term |
| 0:27.9 | solution and you're going to end up spinning your wheels. I think everyone's being there where |
| 0:32.0 | they've lost weight, they've been healthy, they've been in that flow state, then they've lost it |
| 0:36.9 | and they haven't been |
| 0:37.5 | able to get it back they haven't been able to dial it in and our goal with this episode is to give you |
| 0:41.8 | some high level topics tips advice thought cues for you to explore to really learn how to truly make |
| 0:48.9 | it sustainable and you know by the end of this you should have a lot of applicable so i hope you're |
| 0:53.4 | fired up there are show notes in the episode. |
| 1:11.7 | You can always refer back to those after. If you want to take notes, take notes. But this is going to be a killer episode. So I hope you're fired up. I can already tell this is going to be one of our best episodes. So first and foremost is to make sure you start strong and you learn right. So first of all, maybe you're a newbie, maybe you're not. |
| 1:44.5 | I mean, you're listening to a fitness podcast or you're clearly a hungry person. That is a perfect example of starting strong. By making sure you're getting the best source information and really doing things correctly, it is going to go a long way. For me, when I started, I just Googled things. I listened to people at the gym, and I made a lot of wrong turns. I made a lot of mistakes. I did a lot of things inefficiently, and I wasted a lot of time in my journey. Similar to, you know, like the analogy of it's hard to teach an old dog new tricks. Being a newbie is not a bad thing. It's a very good thing because if you learn what's important, what's essential and you lean into that, you will just accelerate so much faster. |
| 1:49.3 | So some great ways to do this are obviously, you know, learn from reputable sources, great podcasts, |
| 1:54.6 | you know, great articles, scientific articles, people that are well accredited. On top of that, |
| 3:24.4 | you know, getting an online coach. If you'd love to work with us, we do have a link first link in the description, you know, and that's just a really great way to propel yourself. You know, we offer a 90 day accelerator. And in that time, you know, you're really going to get all the frameworks, all the essentials. You're really going to have a clear vision, most importantly, what's important. Because when you get started, I know there's a million things. And you're like, what do I need to focus on? What do I not? Are carbs bad for me? You know, is fiber good? Like, am I allowed to have protein on on workout days? How long do I need? If you don't know the answer to those questions, I would highly recommend getting a coach. You're definitely someone who's prime for it because by doing it right, it's just going to be so clear, it's going to be so easy. You know, recently I've spoken how, you know, I did a tennis lesson. I realized how many things I was starting to do wrong. And how do I know and how to do them right, I could have trained the right thing right away. So really put yourself in a position to start strong, get confident, have a friend show you the right forum, watch our YouTube videos, get a personal trainer, do all these things right so you can just optimize and get that jump on your journey. Yeah, and you'll save so much more time. Like if you think of having to relearn like movements and just relearn like just thought cues and stuff, like just by, you know, getting it started the best you can as uh you know just it'll go a long way and save you lots of time and make it just a more fun and sustainable process now number uh the next thing that i'm going to talk about and this is something i'm so passionate about is like try to set yourself up to avoid fighting willpower i know you're all very busy individuals you have a lot going on and you know kind of just like a gas tank like it'll get drained throughout the day as the day goes on. So, you know, especially for me, I know where my strong suits are and I know that like I want to try to get things done a little bit earlier on for myself personally. So especially workout wise like, you know, running wise, like I'll try to get that done. |
| 3:58.1 | Um, just so that way at 8 p.m. or 9 p.m. when I'm trying to unwind and when I'm more tired and stuff, like I won't have to really fight that willpower. For example, you know, just ordering, let's say I'll use another one that really helps me out is just for protein, ordering protein bars to come to my house. you know that's something that helps me you know just not really have to think about things and just like fight that constant like battle of just like, oh, I should be doing this, but I don't want to do it. So if you can kind of just build up these different routines, maybe even laying out your clothes or just like, you know, whether you have a trainer come to your house, like whatever it is so you don't have to constantly fight that willpower and just you know make it a whole tough process where you're always in your head which i know a lot of |
| 4:17.7 | people are. It'll make it just a little bit more sustainable in the long run. Yeah, you know, a lot of these tips are going to centralize around making it easy for yourself and there's a lot of different ways to do it. You know, the old saying, we can make this the easy, we the hard way. You know, I always want to find the easy, the intelligent way, the optimal way. And that's what we're really trying to prime with with this episode. And number three, I think builds on that perfectly. And that's just, it's not a rush. You know, you have tons of time to accelerate. So where people go wrong is we get enthusiastic, |
| 4:49.1 | we get excited, we jump in, we work out six days a week for two hours, burn yourself out. |
| 4:54.6 | You know, you go from eating no protein to only eating protein, never eating out, not going |
| 4:59.6 | out with friends ever, and you just end up failing because it becomes something you resent, |
... |
