So today on this podcast, I'm going to talk about this cool idea that I've been thinking about.

It's just kind of a concept of mental minimalism.

You know, physical minimalism had a huge surge, I don't know, maybe five years ago in culture.

And essentially, you know, everyone knows what the ideas,

but we'll just go over it real quick.

The idea is like looking at the things that you own,

understanding how they, like what they represent,

how they affect you.

Kind of what, one of the interesting things I think about in terms of things is our association with things.

Like we have a hard time letting go of physical things in our lives.

That could be, you know, something we bought, something that was given to us, whatever.

Because we associate that thing with a moment and time in our lives,

and that represents a reflection of who we are and our life story as a person.

So we have a memory that's woven into the fabric of that physical

object. And so the idea of getting rid of it is like getting rid of a piece of ourselves.

And that's why people cling to material objects so much, in my opinion.

It's because like if you were to erase the things that you have that represent you,

then you would start to feel like you're erasing yourself and that you don't exist.

And that's very scary to people, to most people anyway.

And so people always hold on to things, they keep a bunch of

stuff. And as time progresses, they continue more and more things are accumulated because there's

more time to do so. And then you look up and you have just a bunch of stuff that is logging up your house or your apartment
