| 0:00.0 | They're gonna meet you with defensiveness and they're gonna say things like I don't know what you're talking about. |
| 0:03.6 | I didn't do that. Just very quick, very quick to be defensive, very quick to tell you that to turn it around on you and make you feel like you've done something wrong. |
| 0:16.2 | Hey girl, hey, and welcome to the Self Love Fix podcast where we get relatable. |

| 0:35.3 | Because why wait until it's too late to start becoming the best version of ourselves? Let's start today. |
| 0:44.8 | And I'm your host, Beatrice. So let's get into it. |
| 0:53.9 | Hey girl, hey, and welcome back to the Self Love Fix. Today is November 21st. It's the Thursday. I'm feeling good. I hope you're feeling good. |
| 1:06.9 | So lately on both the podcast and on the Instagram, I've been talking a lot about inner child healing and really that's the whole focus of pretty much everything I talk about because |
| 1:19.9 | nine times out of 10 when we have low self esteem or like significantly low self esteem or low sense of self worth, it's due to a need for inner child healing. |
| 1:29.9 | And so this week what I really wanted to jump in and talk about is some of the signs that you may be involved with the narcissist. |
| 1:38.9 | And this isn't going to be all of the signs. It's just going to be some of the top 10 ones that I think stand out the most because a lot of the times our self esteem and our sense of self worth can get you |
| 1:52.9 | to be rooted by people who are narcissistic, whether it's people we grew up with who are narcissistic or partners that we've had that are narcissistic. And if you don't know what a narcissist is used to, it wasn't something that was at the forefront. |
| 2:06.9 | And I think I'm out of mentioned this to another podcast. It's something that wasn't really spoken about because a lot of people didn't know what it was. They just kind of assumed, okay, narcissists mean somebody who's just full of themselves. A lot of people would say someone like Kanye West, that was a big kind of joke. |
| 2:21.9 | And I think I'm kind of a couple of people too, but I won't mention their names. But kind of most people think of narcissists being this, you know, these grandiose kind of larger than life, very obsessed with themselves. |
| 2:34.9 | People which that's kind of half the idea, but it's not the whole picture. A lot of people don't understand the abuse that comes with being involved with narcissists. And that's kind of kind of what I want to touch on today. |
| 2:46.9 | Also, there was a really good red table talk. And if you don't know what the red table talk is, that's a Facebook show, I guess, for lack of better words with Jada Pinkett Smith and her, her mother and her daughter, where they interview different people about different topics, mostly relating to self love. And they had Dr. Romani, who is a psychotherapist, I believe. |
| 3:10.9 | And she talked about narcissism, which is huge because this is really just something that's been hidden. A lot of people suffer with this abuse and the knowledge of narcissism, but don't really get to talk about it or hear about it because it's so for whatever reason kept under wraps, mostly because a lot of people don't understand it. But anyways, so if you see that episode, then you'll know what I'm talking about. If you haven't, it'll become clear as I talk about it. |
| 3:38.9 | So basically a narcissist is someone who is, well, the short story is there people who have no ability to understand that they're wrong or that they can be wrong, I should say, like they don't have the ability to understand or see where they can go wrong. |
| 3:57.9 | And they are people believe that they are pretty much perfect. They can't do anything wrong. Everything that they do is pristine. Everything that they do is perfect and they'll never let you forget it. So that's the short story. Also, if you're into psychology, there is an actual diagnosis called the narcissistic personality disorder diagnosis. |
| 4:16.9 | If you know anything about psychology, which I am not a psychologist, but I do know that pretty much not pretty much no one is diagnosed with narcissistic personality disorder because of the simple fact that these people do not believe that there's anything wrong with them. And if you don't think there's anything wrong with you, you're obviously not going to get checked out by a professional who can tell you that there's something that needs fixing. So these this diagnosis goes largely undetected. |
| 4:43.9 | But to keep it simple and because I'm not a psychologist here, I'm going to refer to people as narcissists as opposed to people diagnosed with narcissistic personality disorder because of that's not my area. |
| 4:55.9 | But it's generally the same except for when we're talking narcissistic personality disorder, we're talking somebody who meets the criteria of, I think it's called the DSM-5. I think that's what psychologists use. So we're talking that. But for this episode, we're going to keep it simple and just talk about people who do not believe that. |
