Summary

Just a couple weeks ago, Robb Wolf, a leading Paleo health expert, released his new book, Wired to Eat.

I loved it.

Today I'm sharing my primary takeaways from the book with you.

One of the things I loved the most is that Wolf acknowledges we can't approach food from a one-size-fits-all standpoint. We all have different tolerances & sensitivities and he uses this book to help you identify what does, and doesn't, work for you.

What I loved even more than that is his focus on non-food factors that significantly influence our metabolism, body fat, appetite and overall health like sleep, light exposure, stress and loving relationships.

I think the book is a powerful one and I hope you enjoy the takeaways I'm sharing in today's episode!

One of my favorite things about this book is that while his goal is to help us get healthier

0:54.4

and leaner, he tackles a couple of important things that most books like this don't cover and

1:01.4

that is number one that there is no one-size-fits-all. We are very individual and that is a theme that

1:08.9

runs throughout this book, our individuality and how some of us respond well to certain foods

1:14.5

and others of us don't and really catering to your own body instead of following some one-size-fits-all

1:21.8

blueprint. I love that. The other thing that I love is that he focuses as much on non-food

1:30.5

factors as he does on food factors. I've shared in the past few episodes that I really feel like

1:38.0

most of us, including myself, have paid or are paying a disproportionate amount of attention to

1:44.6

the food factors at the expense of overlooking some of the non-food factors and for me one of those

1:51.4

big things, those non-food factors has been sleep and hydration. Not only does he focus on

1:59.7

individuality with food but also the critical importance of sleep, of stress management,

2:07.0

of light exposure and connected relationships. He opens the book, actually, this isn't at the

2:13.9

beginning although I think it could be. There's a powerful and simple statement. I think I love it so

much. I think it's going to have to find its way onto a wall somewhere in my house but it says
