our film review is Starry Eyes. Starry Eyes was released in 2014. It has six out of ten on

IMDB and 74% on rotten tomatoes.

Sarah, a young woman, works as a waitress, but harbours big dreams. She wants more than anything to

become a star and makes a deadly deal to achieve her goal. Oh, do you know what?

This film really frustrated me.

I don't know why I, or where I heard of it or how I ended up watching it.

Maybe I saw somebody talk about it on TikTok,

but it was on my list of films to watch,

and I decided to sit down on a Monday morning and watch this film.

And it was very tricky in the beginning. And I thought, this actually has the potential to be quite good. I can't believe I didn't,

I've never heard of it, you know. And I was writing down notes as I was going and you can,

you can see where I begin to go oh actually this is this is

actually a bit shit so in terms of likes right it is a tricky watch in the beginning and I felt like

it it was an early iteration of the substance and I wasn't a huge fan of substance. I thought it was kind of pseudo-feminist

and wasn't this great feminist masterpiece that people were loading it as. I did think it was a good

commentary on, you know, the things that people are willing to sacrifice for success and fame, particularly

in places like Hollywood and in the film industry
