What is going on, everyone. Welcome to another episode of the fit, healthy, and most of all happy podcast. As always, I'm your coach and host Josh here with his co-host and co-coach KG and I'm fired up. Na-N-N-N-N-N-N-A! Cheers! Today's a great day because we're going to be coming at you with 10 tips to manage stress. You know, been asked by popular demand a lot of people have been saying you know honestly there's a lot going on right now and in particular when i was doing check-ins this week it just seems like people are getting work to a pulp for some reason you know a lot of my clients are like i've been working so much this week it's been crazy um you know i guess since things are opening a little bit or things are changing, whatever it may be, we're going to give you 10 amazing tips to help you manage stress and make sure you listen to the end because we save the best for the last, which is going to be amazing. But without further ado, let's jump into number one. What you got, Mr. KG? So number one is just probably the most obvious one, but my absolute favorite.

0:55.8

And I just want to get out of the way. It's just exercise and movement. Okay. And I wanted to kind of

1:01.0

start this off by saying, I think one of the biggest mistakes a lot of people make is they think

1:05.3

that they need to always be getting rid of stress. And I've learned over the years, because that's

1:08.7

the way that I used to think about it. But instead instead I try to actually manage it, right? You know, there's always going to be stressors come up and it's time crunches and just different things in our lives that, you know, especially for those of you who have kids and, you know, just some of you have just crazy jobs. We just have to find ways to not fully get rid of it, but to manage it and to make ourselves feel better day by day. And I think exercise is personally one of the best things out there. And, you know, one of our favorite quotes is, uh, you know, just the only bad workout is the one that you didn't do. And the reason I like that one is because, you know, you're always going to feel better. You release the endorphins, even if it's going for a walk, going for a run, getting a 30-minute string training session in 60 minutes. That alone, I truly believe, is the

1:48.9

fundamental that leaves me feeling 100 times better and has the best ROI return on investment

1:55.1

above all. Just simply incorporating exercise in. A lot of people say, oh, I'm too stressed to exercise.

1:59.9

I don't have the energy, but man, you're going to feel way better afterwards and there's so many ways to like make this suck less like it doesn't have to be the world's most intense craziest workouts ever like just be active you know even yesterday i'm like yeah you know for fun i'm going to go to the gym i'm going on the treadmill for 30 minutes i'm the office. You know, nothing wrong with that. Had some laughs, was active. Like, I got to get a little bit of a break from my day. Got some, you know, funny TV in and it just felt good to walk while I did that, right? Like, you can also kind of combine exercise into your relaxation. You know, maybe you get home and you haven't seen your significant other friends and you just say, hey, let's go on a nice walk.

2:34.7

Let's go on a hike.

2:35.4

Like there's different ways to go about it and to really just make it pleasant and enjoyable. I love that Cal made this number one because this is big for stress. You know, usually this is the first thing you want to cut out, but it's going to end up doing more damage by removing it to your life. whereas if you add it, even if you are busy,

2:49.3

you're going to feel better because of it.

2:51.3

And that's a perfect segue into number two,

2:53.5

which is just to make time for hobbies. You know, for instance, drawing, you know, different things. Kyle's been golfing a lot, you know, doing puzzles, doing whatever it is that makes you happy. Like, we all have unique hobbies. could be working on cars, it it could be knitting it could be anything like that

3:09.1

you know i just find it is really beneficial and in particular i've been challenging myself this

3:13.4

month to get back to drawing you know i actually went to art school for one whole year yay me um but i did

3:18.6

quite enjoy having creative outlet i just find it very peaceful i mean spending a lot of time lately

3:23.4

just kind of chilling,

3:24.2

you know, drawing on my iPad. I like that because it doesn't create a big mess and it just feels

3:28.5

really good to kind of just bring things together. I've just been drawing like different animals and

3:33.0

thing that's on my mind. And it really does de-stress me because, you know, when you're doing the

3:37.1

things you want to do, you feel your best. And like, that's where it's tough, too. Like people will be stressed because they'll work ridiculous hours. Then they'll use their finite amount of time to hit up a bar or to watch TV. And these are things that might feel good in the moment, but they might not build you up as much. Right. And when you're doing the things you really want to do that help you feel your most creative, relaxed and inspired, you're going to feel better because of it. Yeah, absolutely. And even kind of just, you know, working it into your schedule and kind of trying to plan it the best you can. I know some people are going to say, oh, I don't have time for this. Like, it doesn't have to be a massive thing. Even if it's just like, you know, where most people may sit down and watch like a show or something, which also I do believe can help you manage stress. You can just kind of substitute that and just do it for five to 10 or 20 minutes and even one of my biggest hacks is and a lot of my friends will know this. Like I like to plan in advance. So, you know, Monday morning it started. And I message my buddy, hey man, let's let play golf, like looking like one or two weeks in advance

4:31.8

because I know that if I'm just kind of like, and it leaves me feeling good. It's like it's being out in nature, being out in like a nice, slow pace, quiet place. Like that's been really fun for me. And I didn't think I would enjoy it. But I've always always tried new things. And I think that's something that a lot of people can, you know, try to do more often.
