All right, welcome to episode 304. Hello, my friend. Welcome to a fresh new episode of new mindset who this thank you for listening. Thank you for supporting me.

It always always always means so much to me. Whatever you do, liking, subscribing, sharing, visiting new mindset who this calm. It means a lot to me.

And today I've got a shorter episode for you right now in the US. It's fourth of July holiday weekend, but it's a Monday and you know I'm not going to miss a Monday episode.

So I just wanted to drop in to talk about something that I think can help every one of us, every single one of us regardless of relationship status.

And I know I talk a lot about dating, I talk a lot about relationship on the podcast and that's not something I set out to do to be honest with you. I kind of just ended up this way that you all seem to get so much value out of those episodes.

And I get that of course because I think so much of our you know mental spiritual stress in our life can come from relationships.

But let's take that out of the equation for this episode here single married divorce. It's complicated. Whatever it doesn't matter for this episode.

Because today I want to talk about this idea of choosing yourself. Yeah, you know choosing yourself. It's the the pinnacle of self help. It's the ultimate self improvement mantra.

Choose yourself. And you know I've always been kind of a little bit cynical. I kind of make fun of like classic self help and self help gurus and things like that.

But as with many mantras, there's always some truth behind them. And I love this idea of choosing yourself.

And and lately I've seen a lot of posts on this this idea of choosing yourself. And I also get a lot of deans from amazing folks like yourself. And people are like case, you know I listen to your podcast. I use your journals.

And I've finally decided to choose myself.

They'll say something like you know I went through a really tough breakup. I'm having a really tough time with my job. I've have I'm having issues with my family and my friends. But now you know what I'm just saying screw it. I'm just going to choose myself.

And I get that to hear that. And I'm like that's great. Heck yes, choose yourself my friend. And I say that because you know sometimes the reality of life is you decide to do the right thing.

You finally decide to choose yourself because something led you there right there was some kind of like unfortunate catalyst in your life that led you to be like okay.

I'm going to hit reset. I'm finally going to choose myself. And that's great. I applaud you. However you arrive at the decision to choose yourself. I support you.

But it begs the question for me of like why wait for something to happen in your life to finally decide to do that to finally decide to choose yourself.

Why wait for someone to hurt you for a job to disrespect you for friends or family to stress you out like why wait for those experiences to say okay. I'm going to choose myself now.

Well, I think about this a lot. These are the kinds of things I think about and obviously I talk about why do we do this. Why do we wait to choose ourselves.
