Summary

Hello, dear listener! Welcome back to the 30-day authenticity challenge.

On this podcast, I often talk about the importance of being authentic. Of being yourself in every situation, with every person.

So, during the course of these 30 days, we'll do the inner (and outer) work of becoming more authentic and expressing our true selves - without feeling like we need to hide who we are.

Episodes will go out daily until we complete the challenge.

Your task for DAY 28 is to do an exercise to soften your inner critic and send forgiveness and compassion to yourself (step-by-step guidance in the episode).

To support the creation of this podcast, you can donate any amount that works for you here:

Please visit https://josephinehardman.com or send a note to me@josephinehardman.com to connect, share feedback, or let me know how the challenge is going for you.

With deep gratitude for your presence, I send you all my love and support as you allow the true You to shine forth.

Hello and welcome back to Inner Work. I'm your host, Josephine Hardman. This is day 28 of my 30-day

0:12.1

authenticity challenge. I am honored that you have returned to continue our work together.

0:20.5

If you've been getting something out of this podcast and would like to contribute to its

0:26.7

creation and make sure it stays on the air, you can do that by donating any amount that works

0:33.3

for you starting at $1 through the link in the show notes. I can't tell you how much your

0:40.0

donations mean to me, how far they go, really, in helping to keep this podcast alive, and just

0:49.2

how eternally grateful I am to you if you are able to contribute, again, any amount.

0:56.8

So yesterday, for day 27 of the challenge, we did an exercise together to help you communicate

1:04.1

with and get more in touch with your authentic self. We did that through a body-based and mindfulness practice.

1:15.6

I hope that you did that exercise with me, that you didn't put it off, and that you will continue

1:22.4

using it on a regular basis to build that connection to your authentic self.

1:29.2

So you can really allow that self to emerge and shine through.

1:36.2

Today for day 28, as we are getting closer and closer and closer to the end of this challenge,

1:49.2

I want us to turn our attention to self-compassion and self-forgiveness. These are such important parts of the journey towards authenticity

1:57.4

and the journey of living an authentic life. You cannot be truly authentic and really be free.

2:07.5

Allow yourself to try things out, to potentially make mistakes, or say something silly,

2:13.6

or not be liked by everyone. If you have a strong inner critic, a strong inner voice of

2:21.6

perfectionism and harshness that demands that you behave, look, speak, and do everything perfectly.

2:31.1

If you have an inner critic who hounds you and harasses you by pointing out all the ways in which,

2:39.0

according to this critic, you are not succeeding or you are not being perfect or not achieving

2:46.2

or not achieving enough or doing things wrong in whatever way, then that inner critic is likely what stands in the way

2:55.7

of you allowing yourself to be free and to be authentic without caring so much about what
