As you can tell, it's a rainy day here in South Carolina, Myrtle Beach, South Carolina. A little bit of a windy morning

as well. I'm out before sunrise, so I'm walking in the dark. Usually when I'm out at this time,

I can see early daylight off to the east, but because of the clouds and the rain, there is

So it's been five years. Five years ago, I was in the early months of my, I called 20K one-year step challenge.

My commitment was to walk 20,000 steps every single day for an entire year.

That began on September 1st, 2018 and finished up on August 31st, 2019.

It's been five years since I've done that.

And I thought it might be helpful to reflect back on three lessons learned,

the Fitbit. There would have not been a 20K one-year step challenge. My first Fitbit, five years before

that challenge began, and it totally changed my approach to fitness. That Fitbit, now that my steps were being counted,

added motivational fuel to my fire that hasn't been quenched since. Knowing how many steps I'm

getting every day is a motivation. And there are days when I'll look at my Fitbit and it's like,

nope, not enough. You need to get out and walk some more. If you don't have a step tracker,
