Matt, how's it going?

Oh, it's going pretty well.

I'm just thrilled to be a part of this, and I'm more than happy to be sacrificed for your transient

goal of defeating this guy. And then we're going to be friends forever after I do that, right?

Yeah, yeah, totally, totally. Yeah, the great thing is I didn't like have to train you. I just

treat you as my friend and then use you horribly. And everyone wins, really. Yeah, everyone. Yeah. Yeah,

you're great. This week on the show, we will be finishing book one of the dark tower. We're

finishing the gunslinger this week. We're covering chapters four, the slow mutants, and five,

the gunslinger and the man in black. Roland and Jake make their way through the mountains hot on the heels of that man in black.

While traveling through the darkness, Roland tells the tale of becoming a gunslinger to the silent and quite pissed off Jake.

Then the moment we've all been dreading comes and forced to choose between continuing on his quest and saving Jake.

Roland lets the boy fall to his death.

He palvers with the man in black learning about the universe, the tower, the man in black himself,

and where his quest will go from here.

The beginning ended, Roland walks down the mountain alone and towards his quest.

Matt, what did you think of this week's reading?

I mean, I think I said the same thing last week, but it's interesting to me how from

chapter to chapter, I'm continually surprised at the twists and turns at the story takes.

And I mean, we talked about this last week for sure, like the fact that it kind of like goes

from one genre to another and it kind of does it again in these chapters and and just
