What's up everyone? Welcome back to the Epic Gardening Podcast. Today we are talking about

weeds. Specifically, some of the most annoying worst and stupidest garden weeds that you can encounter and I'm going to

go through three of them there are of course many more than three but these are some of the most annoying and I'm sure

you've heard of or suffered from these weeds in your garden and if you haven't

well first of all very lucky of you. Second of all, I hope that

you never have to. And hopefully this episode will teach you how to identify and prevent

them from attacking your garden or your yard. So let's get into it. The very first one we're going to talk about is

crabgrass. Now it's known by other aliases, kind of like a criminal, because it is a criminal in your garden, if you ask me.

Crowfoot grass, finger grass, pigeon grass, Polish millet.

It is a super, super fast growing annual and one of the worst weeds that plagues yards and gardens.

So it thrives in almost every US state, in southern Canada, and there are a ton of problems with it.

Well, first of all, how do we get rid of it?

Well, you have to know how to spot it.

You have to study what it looks like so you can see it as soon as possible because if it gets out of control, then you're in a really bad situation.

So catching it early is step number one. When you do see it you're going to want to hoe or pull up the seed heads throughout the summer

It's hard to deal with partly because it waits for warm days to sprout, which usually are not days that you're out there

doing a lot of weeding.

So when the weather turns hot, the crabgrass will go into overdrive.

So it will send out long stems that grow really, really fast.

And they actually might just flower and go to seed before you even notice them.

So that's part of the reason why crabgrass is so hard to combat.
