Good morning my friends. Good afternoon, good evening, whatever time of day it is. It is time for us to get our minds aligned with the truth of God. I hope you're ready to do that. We are diving in to the letter of 2 Peter found in the New Testament toward the end of the New Testament. In fact, right before

0:22.1

the book of revelation, two or three chapters ahead, not

0:26.0

chapters, pages ahead. These are small little pages of the New Testament books because they were

0:31.2

written as letters. This is a letter that the

0:33.9

apostle Peter wrote to the church in the area where he was residing at the time and

0:38.8

we believe that when Peter wrote this letter he was actually in prison and he was on his way

Now that is all we're going to look at today because there is already tons of truth packed into this section of scripture that I believe we need to

1:35.3

slow down and take a look at. First of all, it's interesting that Peter calls himself

1:40.8

Simian back to his Jewish name rather than the Greek surname that he's been given.

1:47.1

And he says he is a servant of Jesus Christ.

1:51.0

I believe this speaks to Peter's attitude about his role even though he was

1:55.2

appointed by Jesus to be an apostle. He did not see that as a position of

2:00.1

authority or something grand to be boasted about.

2:04.3

In fact, he saw himself simply as a servant.

2:07.6

Now, in those days, there were servants all over the place.
