Welcome back my friends to the morning mindset. It's time for you and for me to get our minds,

align with the truth of God. Now stop for a moment and think about that phrase. I say it all the time and so it can

start to lose its meaning. But let's pause for a moment. And remember what we're doing.

We're aligning our minds, our way of thinking with God's way of thinking, God's mind about things.

That's what's going to lead us to living in a way that's successful in his eyes.

So let's dig into the scriptures to do that today.

We're looking at 2 Peter, chapter number one.

And Peter has been telling us about an experience he had

when Jesus was alive and walking on the earth.

Not to say Jesus is not alive, of course he's alive, he rose from the dead,

but he's no longer on earth in a physical form,

like he was in Peter's day. And Peter is telling about

this experience he had on a mount and top where Jesus was transfigured into

his glorious state as God.

In verse number 18 of chapter 1, 2nd Peter,

Peter writes this, he says,

and we have the prophetic word more fully confirmed,

to which you will do well to pay attention,

as to a lamp shining in a dark place,

until the day dawns and the morning star rises in your heart.

Now that's pretty poetic language for a fisherman, isn't it?
