Welcome back my friends. Thank you for taking the time. To get your mind alive with the truth of God, that's what we're here to do and I wonder do you remember why I use this heroic sounding music in the background it's because we are on an adventure as believers in Christ it's the

greatest adventure of our lives it's the adventure of knowing our king, our lord, our savior, Jesus Christ.

And this is serious business. This is better than any Hollywood movie, better than any story or novel you've ever read because this will

result in our eternal salvation and our

Lord and Savior Jesus Christ for eternity

and it's serious business.

And I want to have an inspiring feel to what we're doing here every day as we get our minds online.

All right, we are moving toward the end of 2nd Peter, chapter 3, which is actually the last chapter in the book of second Peter.

I hope you have found second Peter to be both challenging and encouraging.

We are moving into a section here where Peter has been responding to the critics or the cynics who would scoff at the idea

that Jesus is going to return to this earth. And their point was that they point to how long it's been since Jesus made his

promise and yet it still has not happened. And if you think about it, it's kind of

funny because in their day, it had only been probably 30 years or 40 years since Jesus had made that promise.

And they were scoffing. Well, look at us now. you know, it's been over 2,000 years. It's been quite a long time.

So in our day and age, we could very well have the same sort of a notion, but Peter's response was that Jesus has waited so long

because of his patience. He's wanting everyone to have an opportunity to come to repentance.

So he's waiting for more and more people

to come to repentance, to come to faith in him.

And in verse 10, where we're gonna pick up today,

Peter continues on that line.

And I can almost hear him saying this

with the following emphasis.
