Summary

In today's episode, Emily is picking up the mini series with part two and she's talking about the best things you can do for your body or physicality. We all know how important sleep is to the body, and that's why she's putting that first. Getting the best sleep includes not only how much you're sleeping (quantity), but how good of sleep you're getting (quality). Both of these measurements of sleep are key for optimal living. Secondly, getting in movement is so important! Whatever it is, walking, yoga, weight training, dancing, it's all good! Check out the rest of this episode to hear more about how to greatly impact your physicality.

In this episode we talk about:

  • Getting the best sleep and why it's so important
  • Move your body!
  • Stretching and getting present in your life
  • Shock your system and wake up your body
  • Eat to nourish your body

Hello everyone and welcome to the Evolve with Emily Show. I am your host, Emily Hayden. And this is

0:05.5

episode two in a small mini series that I'm doing of five episodes where I am sharing some of my

0:11.1

daily practices with you guys. On my fridge, I have this list and it says daily ingredients. And these

0:16.7

are just the daily ingredients that make me my best self. Now, I have different categories for the mind,

0:22.9

body, spirit, soul, my focus, my recovery, but this doesn't mean that it's a to-do list,

0:28.9

meaning I'm not doing all of these things every single day. This is more of a self-awareness

0:33.5

where I get to look at these daily practices throughout the day because it's on the fridge

0:37.1

and I always pass the fridge. And I ask myself, have I done any of my daily practices? Especially on days

0:43.2

where I'm feeling a little bit out of sorts or just not fully myself or not my best self,

0:48.0

I can look and just have a mirror held up to myself to say, am I doing the things that make me

0:53.4

my best self? Or am I actually

0:55.7

actively participating in the opposite? So we discussed mindset practices in episode one.

1:03.4

This is episode two. And today we're going to discuss daily practices for your body, for

1:08.3

physicality. The number one thing is sleep.

1:12.2

Now, you might think that I was going to say, work out or move.

1:14.7

And yes, that's on the list as well.

1:16.2

But one of the number one things that you can do for a healthy and optimal body and

1:21.3

physicality is to get quality sleep.

1:24.4

A lot of people who don't really sleep much, they have just gotten used to the normal of

1:29.7

not sleeping. So they have no awareness of the fact that they might be operating at a 40% version of

1:37.5

themselves. They have now accepted that 40% version as they're normal as, oh, it a good day I you know always feel this way so I'm

1:46.9

operating at my highest potential and I'm getting my to-do list on and whatnot but they have no
