But I say, walk by the Spirit, and you will not gratify the desires of the flesh. 17 For the desires of the flesh are against the Spirit, and the desires of the Spirit are against the flesh, for these are opposed to each other, to keep you from doing the things you want to do.

| 0:20.2 | for us to do that today. We're looking at Galatians chapter 5 and the |
| 0:24.8 | apostle Paul has told us that if we can learn what it means to walk by the |
| 0:31.0 | spirit, by the, empowered by led by the spirit of God. |
| 0:36.6 | We will not gratify the desires of the flesh, the desires that have |
| 0:42.4 | controlled us and been prevailing in our lives up until the |
| 0:45.8 | moment we become believers in Christ. That's our job is to learn how to walk by the |
| 0:50.6 | spirit. And he says we have to learn how to do that because the flesh |
| 0:55.2 | desires what's contrary to the spirit. In the spirit what is contrary to the |
| 0:59.9 | flesh. They're in conflict with each other so that we are not to do whatever we want. |
| 1:06.0 | You see, our old way of living was that way of habitual self-centeredness, doing what I want. The Apostle Paul says, now your desires, your new creation mindset |

| 1:32.0 | You see that changes everything because his perspective is the perspective of God Almighty. |
| 1:37.6 | He desires to do the very best thing in every situation, the thing that will bring God the most glory and the most good into |

| 1:48.3 | And so that is our role. |
| 1:49.7 | We're like a conduit for the Holy Spirit of God to produce those kinds of results through our lives. |
| 1:55.3 | But we only do it when we walk by the Spirit. |
| 1:57.8 | We learn to be led by Him. |
