What are you going to do with him?

0:02.0

I think you should be more worried about what we're going to do with you.

0:07.0

Jenny, don't worry about me. We've got cocaine and coffee here. We're going to get wide and have a big party.

Hello and welcome once again to The Cinefiles, where this week we continue our exploration of the great film, Beverly Hills Cop.

0:26.0

At least a film that I truly love. My name is Steve Boris. I'm a filmmaker and directing instructor in Los Angeles, California.

0:32.0

Hello, my name is John Rokam. I'm a writer, producer and host here in San Diego, California.

0:36.0

And I too am a lover of this movie. And so this is one we're both unified on, Steve. And I'm excited to be jumping back in

0:44.0

to find out what happens to Axel Foley, Victor Caitlin, Taggart, Rosewood, and Bogomill in Bogomill.

0:54.0

It's a weird name. It's a weird name, Bogomill. I love it. It's memorable. It's nothing. I think every name in this whole series is memorable.

1:02.0

Bogomill, as I forget the name, Rosewood, Taggart, Inspector Todd.

1:08.0

Inspector Todd, yes.

1:09.0

Yeah, they're all good. Michael Tendino. These are all, they're all good names. I agree.

1:15.0

One thing that I meant to mention back in the first part and I never did was years ago, I had read Chuck Jones's,

1:23.0

the great animator, his autobiography, which is called Chuck Amuck. And one of the things he talks about is that he had a much easier time writing for Daffy Duck than he did for Bugs Bunny.

1:36.0

And the reason that he said is that Daffy Duck is a comic villain that all the comedy comes from his desires, his greed, his fears, his, and that he does, he's not a good person.

1:48.0

And then watching him go through all this stuff is where the comedy comes from. The same is true with Wiley Coyote. This is not a good person. And the comedy comes from watching them get destroyed. Bugs Bunny is a comic genius.

1:59.0

Is that he strolls through life perfectly and is so far ahead of everybody else in every single way that it was actually harder to write for him.

2:09.0

And Axel Foley is a comic genius. You know what I mean? He's like Bugs Bunny. He walks into any situation and is just always, you know, like Bugs Bunny puts on whatever role is necessary to make his way through that situation.

2:24.0

Exactly. Exactly.

2:26.0

And right now the situation he's in is that he has been arrested for destroying the buffet at the hero club. Yeah.

2:33.0

And he's now back in the police station and confronted by Bogomelle who says, this is becoming very irritating. Why are you bothering Victor, Madeland?

2:43.0

And then any Murphy does this thing that both you and I have talked about that we both really admire. Is he strips everything away? Yeah. And he just speaks from the heart.
