Hopefully your self-worth won't tarnish because that's internal.

I, like, thought my self-work got stripped for me because I gave it to someone else,

but that I should never get it to them in the first place.

What's up, guys? Today in the show, we're talking with Kiki Pickett. Kiki is a five-year

NWSL veteran where she played for Kansas City Current, NC Courage, and BayfC, and she recently

signed with the San Diego Wave. It's funny because we actually talked to Kiki a few weeks

before she was signing with the wave. So we talked a little bit more about her time at Bayfc,

but it was actually such an interesting time to talk to an athlete when they're in between two teams and there's a little bit of the unknown. So we kind of got to talk about how she was dealing with a lot of uncertainty about the future, but it gave us a really cool perspective to hear from an athlete. I really feel like we had a very vulnerable conversation with her because of that.

And she was getting us like super honest, real feelings and emotions.

And I really loved hearing about how she was learning to maintain her self-worth,

even in a time where it was really tough.

Yeah.

And I'm actually so pumped and relieved to hear that she signed her the wave too, because that's really cool that.

I think that's going to be a really good fit for her. But it was an incredible conversation and

we're so excited to see her thrive there. So enjoy. Soccer has been part of your life for so long.

But can you tell us like when did it become a part of your identity? I would say probably

when I was 14 because we started like national team

camp and travel soccer. So missing like half of school or missing Fridays and Mondays when I'm

like, oh, yeah, I prefer this over something else. So I think that's when it started. I think

the biggest amount of school that I missed was like 55% of school my junior

year in high school. Wow. And I got one of those like tardy things in the mail. Like I don't know

what to do. And no one talks about that experience of how when you miss big chunks of school as a kid.
