Jason Stevenson needs very little introduction, or perhaps he's best introduced as JS or JS Industries, the tractor logo, surfboard brand.

He sits very near the top of the heap of shortboard surfboard manufacturers worldwide.

Among his list of notable team riders are Joel Parkinson for nearly his entire career, Julian Wilson, Sally Fitzgivens,

Acky, Ryan Callan, Mikey Wright, Ace Buckin, Jeremy Flores, Dusty Payne, and plenty of up-and-comers

from around the Gold Coast. We spend a portion of this conversation covering Jason's origin story,

him growing up on the wave-rich

but economically limited North Stratabrook Island, his entry into board building and the factors

that led to his success. And then we close out with his opinions on a few hot topics in surfing,

what Julian will need to clinch his first world title, all that stuff.
