Summary

I get a lot of questions from people who are new to thought work that have to do with gaslighting themselves. It’s a totally normal concern and one that I’ve talked about many times on the podcast. But here’s why it’s so interesting. It comes from the assumption that your original unconscious thoughts are better or carry more importance simply because it is your original subconscious thought. Why are we giving more importance to the first thing our brains spit out than the thoughts we intentionally cultivate ourselves?

I just got back from 10 days in Italy and I took the gentleman consort on a luxury

door. It was really an incredible trip in so many ways like we stayed in these incredibly

beautiful places we stayed at this hotel that was in a 10th century castle

we stay in hotel that was in like a 14th century monastery and a palazzo in Venice.

It's incredibly, just beautiful surroundings. We saw incredible art, we ate delicious meals, it was amazing.

I got stressed out when I was hungry.

I don't like being hot and we were there in a heat wave. I was sometimes annoyed with myself, sometimes

annoyed with my partner, right? I was in love with all the things about the gentleman concert and myself that I'm always in love with and then I was annoyed by all the things that I'm always annoyed about that my brain creates annoyance over right because even a luxury vacation to Italy is not an exit

trip because a few hours before the trip I had to put my cat of 20 years, Darwin, to sleep.

He had a very good long run and had just kind of come to the end.

and I spent the flight crying, because I just had to put down my cat.
