Today's guests are Switchfoot band members Tim Foreman and Chad Butler.

Switchfoot started out as a Led Zeppelin cover band in junior high. Believe it or not, there's a little known fact for you.

There are five bandmates in total, three of whom grew up surfing in North County, San Diego. I grew up

70 miles north in Orange County, so I always had this peripheral awareness of switchfoot, and only

kind of one or two degrees of separation. A friend knows the band or that sort of thing.

And then as they became well known, they'd be featured in the surf magazines that I would read, or Rob Machado would join them on stage at some huge venue in Japan or something like that.

Some of their music made its way into surf videos.

The year after I graduated high school, they released this huge hit.
