But what I've really been surprised by is by how many questions you actually ask.

It's impossible to properly answer the question without getting to the bones of it all.

Well, even without surfing though, like last night at dinner, you went out of your way to go sit with, like you were sitting in one side of the table, chatting with people who you knew, getting catching up, and you made an effort to get up and go sit at a different table with people you didn't know and immediately sit down and ask, who are you? What do you do? Where are you from? Even this morning, Ryan, that we saw Ryan from Orlando, we saw at the beach when we were leaving. It's like, I introduced the two of you and you could have just said your pleasantries. Hi, how's it going? Nice to see you. And we could have left. And the actual, the tide was moving

in and we were on the beach, so we had reason to move. But instead, you said, Ryan, what do you

do for work? Really? Tell me more about that. So, um, it seems that you genuinely enjoy meeting people.

Well, Kelly's like that.

It sticks with me when Kelly said some years ago that he would take LA businessmen out into a lineup who'd never been much in the

water at all on a surfboard, probably on a flat day, and then get 50 yards out with the

lineup and say, now turn around.

And they look at something they'd never seen before.

Well, there's the beach.

Surf stoked.
