And welcome back to Corpus Dlicti, the podcast.

So we are back into our survivor mode.

Yeah, but we're going off the beaten path with this one just because, you know what, sometimes we just want to mix things up.

And their Survivor series in general has been really dark, and I think it's because we know all the details because they did survive.

And then some of the Halloween ones have been really dark as well.

Even the one we did on Patreon, normally we do 30 minutes of a story and 30 minutes of chat,

but we just kept going because there was just so much to talk about with that one and it was dark too.

So this is a survivor story per se, and you'll see what we mean here in a minute when we get into it so let's

go ahead and do that all right we are going to talk about john darwin now he's a father a husband

prison guard and he went out on his canoe on march 12 2002 and he failed to return An extensive sea rescue was quickly kicked off, and after

weeks of searching, the police told his wife that John had died at sea. Born in 1950, John

attended St. Francis Xavier's grammar school, and then went on to attend college in Lancaster, where he would study biology

and chemistry. He would later go on to Mary Ann Stevenson on December 22, 1973. He began his

teaching career focusing on science and mathematics. So overall, you think that he's a pretty smart dude.

So later, John left teaching and joined Barclay's Bank, and he was not the greatest at it,

wasn't the best fit.

So after that, he got a job as a prison guard in H.M. Prison Homehouse and worked at a local

doctor's office as a receptionist. Together, the two of them had two sons, Anthony and Mark.

And John was always thinking about how to make the family rich. And, you know, we all do this to an extent. We dream

big. Jen wants a yacht. We've got this whole plan that we shoot for that, you know, is probably

not going to happen. But he was bound and determined to make this happen. So by working at the bank
