The breakout podcast that everyone's talking about. So we're here to talk about it. But we have good reason. Yeah, yeah, we do have good reason. Right in the middle. We're on part three of this four part series on

spiritual abuse. And I know that this podcast. I have viewed it as super helpful for just my own growing consciousness things to consider.

I mean, I mean, here's the deal. I was raised. I was trained as a white male and ministry training. I was taught how to grow churches.

Like all the things. And so I don't have the experiences. I have a very normative experience on one side of the power dynamics of the church conversation.

So anything that for me opens the door to consider conversations that we intentionally unintentionally blatantly directly and directly didn't have. I find to be super helpful.

And I mean, said that before we even get started, because I know there's all kinds of opinions. There is all kinds of opinions like that podcast is everything.

And then there are people like I freaking hate that podcast. And here's all the things that are wrong with it.

Like there's the whole gamut of reactions to the rise and fall of Mars Hill podcast. I think I posted on social media recently.

I think it's a super important. It might be I think I think my post said one of the most important conversations.

Like right now that we could be having considering as a church having said that. There's a couple really important things that I have found.

And I Brent's going to put a couple links in the show notes. On the one hand, there is a whole group of people that's like.

Engaging this podcast almost as a form of entertainment.

Like one one writer called it the post we're going to put in the show notes called it failure porn.

Like we're almost being entertained by. And there's something like really weird and sick and consumeristic about that that we need to make sure that we have our.

We need to have our finger on the pulse of that. That has not been my experience. I know it has been for some.

I do not sit and wait every week like I cannot wait for the new episode of the rise and fall Mars Hill podcast.

Like it turns like it turns my gut like it. I have physiological reactions to listening to the episodes.

Like I don't look forward. To listening to the episodes. I find them to be very.

Thought provoking the other conversation is another link we'll put in the show notes.

And it just had some helpful critique by somebody that's kind of pushing their own book and that's cool.

Like there's nothing wrong with that necessarily. They're very upfront about that they weren't trying to hide that.
