Welcome to another edition of Ten Gently Speaking. This is your host, Chris. This week's guest is Moshe Cashier, who's one of my favorite people.

All-time favorite people. He's a comic writer, actor, man of all trades here in Los Angeles.

Today we talk about his life before he became a famous big shot though. We talk a lot about

the travails of growing up in Oakland, the child of two deaf parents, which was interesting to say the least.

And some of the anger that he had as a young guy, as an adolescent particularly, that led into issues with drugs and alcohol and the police and so on and so forth,

the sorts of things that you can imagine might befall a young angry guy in Oakland.

Anyway, Moshe, I'm very happy to report, has come out of that experience or that set of experiences and is leading a beautiful, wonderful life he lives with Natasha Legero.

They're married, in fact, another well-known comic actor, writer here in LA. They've done TV shows together. He's got a new show coming out soon, which he talks about in the podcast.

I'm actually standing in my driveway, recording this because I have a friend who's sleeping off a long flight from the Philippines in the house right now, so I don't want to bother her.

She's just flown in this morning and flying out later, so she's catching a nap.

I'm out here with the birds, if you can hear them saying it's beautiful. I'd love this place.

Anyway, yeah, Moshe Cashier, what's going on in my life? I've got the van as I reported recently, Oliver at New York's and Lang's Automotive, down in Chatsworth, California.

Oliver is helping me out with the van. To be more accurate, I am helping Oliver with the van since he knows what he's doing and I don't.

So I find myself standing around with the beer in my hand while he does a lot of the work, which I don't know. I have good karma in that sense.

It seems that people come out of the woodwork to help me out and they seem happy to have me standing around with the beer in my hand.

So that's what I do. That seems to be my destiny to be the guy standing around with the beer in his hand.

So I try to fulfill my destiny as best I can. Anyway, Oliver is helping with the van. We've got the under the bed. We've got storage areas all framed in.

We are buying redwood panels to do the roof in the morning. We're going to tomorrow. We're going to insulate it and put this really nice redwood paneling in there.
