This episode deals with probably the best known

story about Samuel, or one of the best known stories about Samuel, and that's the calling of

0:28.8

Samuel, and it's probably one of the better stories in the Bible, just for sheer storytelling.

So Samuel went and lay down in his place. The Lord came and stood there, calling as the other times, Samuel, Samuel.

1:48.4

Then Samuel said, speak for your servant is listening.

And the Lord said to Samuel, see, I'm about to do something in Israel that will make the ears of everyone who hears about it tingle.

1:59.9

At that time, I will carry out against Eli

2:02.9

everything I spoke against his family from beginning to end. For I told him I would judge his family

forever because of the sin he knew about. His son's blasphemed God, and he failed to restrain them.
