Summary

Erin Brown is someone I have long admired.  Erin is one of the first women I found online who was part of a much-needed movement to encourage women to STOP shrinking.  Her words and philosophies have been hugely impactful and healing to me in the last 4 years.     Erin gives women permission to unapologetically stand in their space “As Is” (the name of her first book.)  She is brilliant and graceful, but also bold, honest and raw.     I knew I wanted to interview Erin long before I launched The Shameless Mom Academy.  So, it was an honor to record this with her.    Listen in and hear Erin share:   Her journey into motherhood and personal training that was not about weight loss, although it yielded weight loss How she evolved from Fit Mama Training, a place where she was often criticized, into I Am Erin Brown, a place where she is revered. How she learned to manage mommy rage   The power of sharing her experience with sexual assault to stop intergenerational trauma The magic of her new book, Letters To Lola – and how Lola has inspired her to change the landscape for all women and girls     Links: Web: http://iamerinbrown.com/ Follow Erin on Facebook Letters From Mom Workbook  Letters To Lola on Amazon As Is on Amazon (print version) As Is Ebook Energy Clearing by Cindy Dale Cheryl Strayed Learn more about your ad choices. Welcome to the Shameless Mom Academy. I'm your host, Sarah Dean, and I'm here to give you

0:08.7

and other passionate, dedicated moms the tools you need to bridge the gap between motherhood

0:13.0

and living the life of your dreams. I'm also here to help you be a little more shameless every day,

0:18.4

because if you aren't building a life, you're extraordinarily

0:20.8

proud of, what kind of legacy are you building? So let's dive in. On today's episode of the

0:27.6

Shameless Mom Academy, I'm interviewing Aaron Brown from I am Aaron Brown. Aaron is someone I have been

0:33.2

fan girling for a number of years now. So I came across Aaron Brown at a time when I was in

0:39.2

desperate need for different kinds of personal trainers in my life. So I've always been

0:44.8

surrounded by many personal trainers and professionals who I've highly admired and held in

0:49.4

high regard, but I was in a space of trainers who were all building businesses around helping women shrink.

0:56.6

And that was something that after I had Vinny, I was kind of over that. And so like if you want to

1:01.8

lose weight, that's great. I can totally help you with that. And I do that a lot with my gym in Seattle.

1:05.5

I help women meet their fitness goals and meet weight loss goals. But I also didn't want to just

1:10.4

have that be like the only

1:11.6

conversation that I was a part of. And I felt like even in my own life and my own journey with

1:15.8

weight loss after Vinnie was born, something I really struggled with was like, what if I just

1:20.0

don't want to shrink anymore? What if I don't want to lose my baby weight? And what if I'm just

1:22.9

okay with where I'm at? And where are the people who just support us women being cool and amazing

1:30.4

where we're at versus always hustling to get smaller and take up less space and shrinking?

1:36.3

And so I came across Aaron Brown on Facebook and I felt like everything she said just gave me

1:42.2

permission to be okay with where I was at. And I really,

1:45.4

really needed that. I didn't need anyone to tell me, like, how I could get a six pack after having
