Don't think I've spoken lately here about how women can be faithful, helpful,

parishioners, church members. And this is a great topic that I have thought about many times.

I think no matter what your age or whether you're married. that I have thought about many times.

I think no matter what your age or whether you're married or single,

this is applicable.

Most of it.

I am, as you might know, a pastor's wife,

so I have thought quite a bit about those specific duties for a wife

married to a minister but I'm speaking here about the other duties I have as a church

member those duties I share with all of you who are members of a church.

First, and I think this is where it really begins, is the duty to pray for your church.

Add the church to your prayer list if you don't already have your church on it.

But how do you pray for your church?

Well, I suggest use the Bible.

1st Timothy 3 has a lot to say about the qualifications for leadership both elders and deacons.

Here's a short list for elders coming from 1st Timothy 3.

That they be blameless, the husband of one wife, temperate, sober-minded, of good behavior,

hospitable, able to teach, not given to wine, not violent, not greedy for money, but gentle, not quarreldom, not covetous, one who rules

his house well, having his children in submission, not a novice, having a good testimony. And then Deacons, it mentions that they be

reverent, not double-tongued, not given to much wine, not greedy for money,

holding the mystery of the faith with the pure conscience. And then their wives are to be
