Summary

Happy New Year everyone! Welcome to the first episode of 2022. We at the show hope you all had an amazing new year celebration and are feeling really grateful for this fresh start. For Emily, 2021 was a ton of lessons learned and major changes which brings challenges. However, she also feels very blessed for so many things the year brought her as well. She begins the show going back to the start of last year and goes into some of the challenges and blessings she experienced. For one, she got an amazing opportunity to work on a Netflix film set training the main actress. That was such a huge deal for her but it brought some struggles as well. She had to be quarantined the entire time and tested every other day for covid and it was a very difficult time for her personally with her physical and mental health. Emily talks about how she dove into EMDR therapy and had to pull out of her prep because she was dealing with hormone issues, which was taking a huge toll on her. Emily emphasizes that dealing with past trauma or health issues is the key to becoming the best and most excellent version of yourself and it will make a world of difference for you. Emily finally made it back home to Texas in April of 2021 and was just so thankful to be in her new home. She hit the ground running with the podcast and was putting out so many amazing episodes every week. She talks about setting big goals in order to inspire taking action to achieve them. What are the small steps you can take today to get you to that overall goal? It requires taking steps every single day. Emily got to do a lot of traveling this year, which means she got to meet so many new people and create new relationships. She talks about taking a chance on love and learning a lot of lessons when that relationship ended. She talks about how important it is to lean into your relationships with your friends in the hard times. Emily found immense peace after praying and handing over her hardships to God and leaning on her girlfriends. Listen to hear what's next for 2022 and get some tips on goal setting.

0:24.8

everybody. I hope that you all had a safe and happy new year. I wanted to take some time in this

0:30.1

episode to kind of recap a little bit of 2021 and share some of my main takeaways and lessons

0:36.6

that I have learned in hopes to kind of help

0:39.7

guide you along. If you experience those things, maybe it'll help you in some way. And then as well,

0:45.0

kind of give you my tips for 2022 and in setting some realistic goals because I know that

0:51.2

we're all in goal setting mode. It's January. We're motivated with the,

0:55.4

you know, height of our motivation. So hopefully I can give you some strategies and things that

1:00.0

you can implement all year long. I kind of look at the year as a month by month basis. And every

1:06.7

first of the month is kind of like the new year for me. And operating in that mode has allowed me to

1:11.5

accomplish way more and stay way more focused on all the things that really matter most to me.

1:17.0

So we'll get into that by the end of the episode. But I first want to kind of talk a little bit about

1:21.6

2021. So do you guys know that song that everyone is creating those cute reels too? It's on Instagram. I'm going to play it so that you don't have to hear my voice.

1:35.3

That one. And they're, you know, putting all the memories to 2021. And I'm watching these on Instagram. And I'm like, 2021 was not the happiest year of my life. I don't know if there's anyone else out there that feels that way. But I'm like, 2021 was not the happiest year of my life. I don't know if there's anyone

1:45.9

else out there that feels that way, but I'm like, good for them. I'm so happy for them. I want

1:51.0

happiness for everybody, but it just was like so comical for me to see it over and over again.

1:56.4

And I'm like, like getting out of 2021, like, we made it. We're finally out of here um i kind of felt like oh man

2:04.5

what's that show prison break where every episode they're he's like we're never going to get

2:08.6

out of here that's how i felt in 2021 many times no it wasn't all bad there was so many

2:14.6

moments and that's the thing is i feel like 2021 for me was just a ton of

2:19.6

lessons learned and it was a lot of uprooting things in my life that didn't belong it was a lot of
