Something happens to us when money is involved and when love of money is forefront, it can cause

for which some have strayed from the faith in their greediness

First, notice that is not money is a root of all evil, but love of money is the root of all kinds of evil.

How does this love of money get into our souls

Well, it is ushered in by envy, discontent and greed.

You might surprise yourself at a yard sale or on marketplace.

When this suddenly surfaces.

bought it out from under you, or once you saw them want it, you had a sudden desire to get it first.
