I'm going to stick with the mothering theme for another week.

Today I have a few more thoughts for mothers

and hopefully encouragement for all of you whether you are mothers or not.

Let's read First Thessalonians 5, 14 through 17.

Now we exhort you brethren, warn those who are unruly, comfort the faint-hearted,

uphold the weak, be patient with all.

See that no one renders evil for evil to anyone, but always pursue what is good both for yourselves and for all.

Rejoys always, pray without ceasing and everything give thanks, for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus for you.

Well this is Paul's exhortation to the church in Thessal and Nica and I just wanted to

apply the first bit to mothers of little kids or older kids.

First of all, warn the unruly.

This is wisdom indeed.

You don't let things go until someone gets hurt. You speak to your son or your daughter and tell them it's time to reel it in.

If they are getting too noisy or two boisterous, that's being unruly, give them a warning.

Time to tone it down.

You're getting out of hand, you're getting too close to the edge.

Let's calm down, let's settle down. You want to do this training at home

before they're in school. By the time they go to school they should be ready to listen to their teacher

and obey the school or classroom rules.
